Our Knitters
debs
Meet our fabulous knitter Debs from Essex UK. Debs has been one of our knitters for 7 years. She started knitting when she was 8 years old and was taught by her grandma. Debs says she loves knitting because it’s good for mental health and keeps her brain active.
Debs daughter Seoana worked for the cosy a few years back when she was on a gap year to Australia.
Bea (Noni)
Bea is 88 years old and lives in Queensland. She has 9 grandkids and 11 great grandkids who affectionately call her Noni. Her mother (who was a seamstress) taught her to knit from a young age. Today she continues to knit not only her beautiful tea cosies but also donates toys for children’s hospitals and crochets mats and rugs for animal shelters and her unique slippers. She has always loved art and crafts, building her own ceramic/pottery studio in the 1980’s and not only teaching but also selling her wares to local shops and markets.
Bea has knitted for the Cosy for almost 10 years. We were lucky enough to meet Bea in person about 7 years ago when she visited Sydney.
